THE TIGER HUNTER is the story of Sami Malik, an ambitious young man with an engineering degree who travels to 1970s Chicago to impress his childhood crush and live up to the legacy of his father, a local legend and tiger hunter. When Sami ends up living in a tiny co-op with two oddball roommates and taking a job as a lowly mail clerk, what ensues is a series of adventures involving outlandish schemes, an arch-nemesis in an absurd office environment, and a variety of misfits that Sami may soon call friends.
Synopsis
Back in India, Sami Malik was the golden boy. Charming, smart, and unfailingly clever, Sami had reached the peak of the Indian success ladder. So, bored of finding new ways of causing trouble back home and hoping to live up to the legacy of his father, Sami set his eyes on America.
Becoming a "top engineer" in 1970s Chicago, however, isn't easy. As Sami struggles against an absurdly self-conscious boss and an underhanded work competitor, Sami and his dysfunctional crew of roommates must figure out how to get by…whether it requires them to tailor interviews around a single (but incredibly good looking) suit, learn how to not get punched in the face by the locals, or experience what it's like to utterly destroy a classic car-—and come out with nothing but a giant toe cast.
The Tiger Hunter is an offbeat comedy-drama about Sami and his band of polar opposite roommates. Together, although their plans may contradict each other with terrible consequences, the four must learn to work together while meeting the usual host of obstacles-—the "usual," that is, if meeting junkies, going to jail, or planning for the ultimate road trip is just your usual, everyday fare.
